Americans with Disabilities:
Through this lesson students will read an overview of the progression of the civil rights movement for Americans with Disabilities. They will annotate the text, write 5 word summaries per text section, and complete a reflection response.

Chicano (Mexican-American) Civil Rights Movement
Through this section students will learn about the Chicano Civil Rights movement: from the Mexican-American war, to the role of Mexicans and Mexican Americans during the World Wars, to initial activists who helped develop the values of the Chicano movement, to the farm workers movement, to the fight for education with the East LA walkouts.
This lesson should last a couple of periods, and includes an overview through a photo gallery, multiple reflection/discussion questions, and ends with a "Chicano Fight for Civil Rights" graphic organizer and group power point assignment.
